EVENTS

Apart from academic courses, the UP-CMC Journalism Department organizes events that seek to complement and enhance the journalistic training of its students as well as students from other universities in the Philippines and abroad. It also holds an annual training workshop for professional journalists.

Philippine Journalism Research Conference (PJRC)

The annual student research conference that is open to students from all over the Philippines and the nearby Asian nations. It aims to promote Journalism studies academic research and student investigative reporting.

Lopez Jaena Training-Workshop for professional journalists

The annual professional training program offered by the Department for media practitioners, especially community journalists. Every year, the program focuses on a specialized field of reportage. In 2017, the focus is on "Science Reporting".

Fora/symposia

Seasonal and timely fora and symposia are organized to complement learning, especially about current events and controversial public issues.
